Kids Camp Results

August 13, 2004 – Newton, New Hampshire

The dust has settled in the outdoor arena.  The calculator worked hard.  The total scores for the Kids Camp this week:

Leslie – 99 Carolyn – 108 Aurora – 117
Katie – 101 Anna – 104 Sam – 172

After two rounds of Dressage, Katie was all fired up with a 41 combined score, driving Crown Jewel, a fabulous Haflinger.  Leslie was at 44 with the same horse.  Carolyn hovered at 50, Anna was at 56, Sam, with his Mini Joe surged forward to 62 and Aurora was at 63.

Mary Gray, our wonderful clinician for the two week program, put cone courses together which would rattle the best of competitors.  At first the dull “thud” of red plastic under the wheels was a common sound.  She made everyone understand that tight cones make for a better show.  Why practice with the cones three feet apart?  Poor cones!

High Tea was served, with everyone arriving in full costume, calling cards in hand.  In attendance were:

Sir Samuel, Lord of the Minis

Lady Leslie Ann of Linden Woods

Baroness Golda Katherine

Lady Aurora of Wrentham

Lady Anastasia of Wrentham

Carolyn, Duchess of Ashby

Her Majesty, Queen Mary Gray presided over popovers and tea.

Absent, but always in our thoughts:

Olivia, Duchess of Newton

Kristin, Countess of Upper Danville

William of Iron Horse, Knight of the Land

And finally, we always acknowledge those wonderful horses who care for kids:

Alabare, Guiseppe the Great, Crown Jewel, Misty Kiss, Electra, Golden Sunrise, Mocha of Iron Horse, Lillie of the Fields

The Carriage Barn Equestrian center wishes to thank everyone who helped with our third annual Kids Driving Clinic.  We are hoping to have ten juniors read for Maine Carriage Days, October 2nd.
