| The Kettle House was originally constructed in 1891 as a carriage barn on the Lorenzo N. Kettle Family Estate in Weston, Massachusetts, to store Kettle's carriage, his steeds, and as a quarters for those who worked the estate. Kettle was a wool merchant in Boston and maintained his estate as a gentleman's farm until after World War II. The barn remained on the Weston site until 1999 when it was dismantled and stored. The building was moved to the Carriage Barn facility for restoration in the summer of 2000. | |||
